Last updated: 4 November 2026

These Terms of Business explain the basis on which QUOTEWISE LTD provides commercial energy brokerage and procurement services.

By asking us to review your energy arrangements, obtain quotations, provide recommendations or assist with arranging an energy supply contract, you agree that these Terms of Business will apply to our relationship with you.

1. Our Role

QUOTEWISE LTD acts as a third-party intermediary and commercial energy broker.

We are not an electricity or gas supplier and do not supply energy directly.

Our role may include:

  • reviewing your current energy arrangements;

  • obtaining information about your existing contracts;

  • monitoring contract and renewal dates;

  • obtaining quotations through suppliers and procurement partners;

  • comparing available options;

  • comparing an incumbent supplier renewal offer against suitable alternatives where available;

  • explaining relevant pricing and contract information;

  • making recommendations based on the information available to us;

  • assisting with the process of arranging a chosen energy contract.

Any energy supply contract you enter into will be between your business and the relevant energy supplier.

2. Supplier and Procurement Network

We may obtain quotations through our available supplier and procurement partner network.

We do not necessarily compare every energy supplier operating in the UK market.

The number of suppliers available for any particular quotation may depend on factors such as:

  • your business type;

  • energy consumption;

  • credit status;

  • meter type;

  • contract dates;

  • geographic location;

  • supplier appetite;

  • availability of particular products.

3. Information You Provide

To provide our services, we may ask you for information including:

  • business name and contact details;

  • supply address;

  • current energy supplier;

  • MPAN or MPRN details;

  • annual consumption, EAC or AQ;

  • existing unit rates and standing charges;

  • contract start and end dates;

  • copies of energy bills;

  • renewal quotations;

  • information about your business and energy requirements.

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide to us is accurate and complete.

We are entitled to rely on information supplied by you, your representatives, energy suppliers or other authorised sources.

4. Letters of Authority

We may ask you to sign a Letter of Authority (LOA).

An LOA may allow us to contact your existing or prospective energy suppliers and obtain information necessary to review or manage your energy arrangements.

An LOA does not, by itself, create a new energy supply contract or authorise us to enter into a supply contract on your behalf unless this is expressly stated.

5. Quotations

Energy quotations are based on information available at the time they are produced.

Energy prices can change frequently and a quotation may:

  • be subject to a limited validity period;

  • change before acceptance;

  • be withdrawn by a supplier;

  • be subject to supplier validation or credit approval.

We cannot guarantee that a quoted price will remain available unless and until the relevant supplier's acceptance process has been completed.

6. Recommendations

Where we recommend an energy contract, the recommendation may take into account factors including:

  • unit rates;

  • standing charges;

  • estimated annual cost;

  • annual consumption;

  • contract length;

  • supplier suitability;

  • available supplier options;

  • customer preferences;

  • current or proposed renewal pricing;

  • overall contract value.

A recommendation represents our assessment based on the information and options available to us at that time.

It does not guarantee that a particular contract will be the cheapest option available anywhere in the market.

7. Estimated Costs and Savings

Any estimated annual cost or saving we provide is based on the consumption figures, rates and other information available when the calculation is prepared.

Actual costs may vary depending on:

  • actual energy consumption;

  • taxes and levies;

  • supplier charges;

  • meter or network charges;

  • changes in your business usage;

  • the terms of the final supplier contract.

Where we present an estimated saving, the comparison basis will be explained to you.

8. Principal Terms

Before you proceed with a recommended energy contract, we may provide you with a summary of the relevant Principal Terms.

This may include information such as:

  • supplier;

  • energy type;

  • contract duration;

  • supply start date;

  • unit rate;

  • standing charge;

  • estimated annual consumption;

  • estimated annual cost;

  • payment arrangements;

  • renewal or termination provisions;

  • intermediary remuneration.

Our recommendation or Principal Terms document is not itself the energy supply contract.

9. Entering Into an Energy Contract

If you choose to proceed, we will arrange for the relevant supplier contract or supplier-approved acceptance process to be provided.

You should review the supplier's contractual documentation carefully before accepting it.

The final energy contract will be between your business and the energy supplier.

Where there is any difference between information provided by QuoteWise and the supplier's final contractual documentation, you should review and rely on the supplier's official contract before acceptance.

10. Supplier Acceptance

Any proposed contract may be subject to supplier validation.

This may include:

  • credit checks;

  • meter and supply-point validation;

  • verification of business details;

  • confirmation of contract dates;

  • confirmation of consumption;

  • confirmation that the existing contract can be terminated;

  • other supplier-specific requirements.

A supplier may refuse or withdraw an offer in accordance with its own acceptance criteria.

11. Commission and Remuneration

QUOTEWISE LTD may receive remuneration for arranging commercial energy contracts.

This may be paid:

  • by the energy supplier;

  • through our procurement partner;

  • through an amount incorporated into the energy price;

  • through another agreed commercial arrangement.

Where remuneration is incorporated into the energy rate, it may form part of the charges payable under your energy supply contract rather than being invoiced separately by QuoteWise.

Where required, information about the remuneration applicable to a proposed contract will be provided before the contract is accepted.

12. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • providing accurate information;

  • checking the information contained in quotations and recommendations;

  • reviewing the supplier contract before acceptance;

  • ensuring that the individual accepting a contract has authority to act for the business;

  • informing us of any relevant changes to your circumstances or existing energy contract.

You should contact us immediately if you believe information we have used is incorrect.

13. Contract Renewals

We may keep details of your contract end date and contact you ahead of a future renewal.

We cannot guarantee that we will always contact you before a contractual deadline.

You remain responsible for complying with any notice, termination or renewal requirements contained in your energy supply contract.

14. Communications and Call Recording

We may communicate with you by telephone, email, electronic messaging or in writing.

Telephone calls may be recorded for purposes including:

  • compliance;

  • quality assurance;

  • confirming customer instructions;

  • resolving disputes;

  • training;

  • maintaining evidence of transactions and discussions.

Further information about how we process personal data is available in our Privacy Policy.

15. Liability

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill.

However, we are not responsible for matters outside our reasonable control, including:

  • supplier pricing changes;

  • supplier withdrawal of quotations;

  • supplier acceptance decisions;

  • credit decisions;

  • network or meter issues;

  • inaccurate information supplied to us;

  • failures by third-party suppliers or service providers.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

16. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please contact us so that we can investigate the matter.

Where applicable, unresolved eligible complaints may ultimately be referred to an approved alternative dispute resolution provider.

Details of our ADR arrangements will be updated on our website once confirmed.

17. Data Protection

We process personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws.

Please see our Privacy Policy for further details.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Business from time to time to reflect changes to:

  • our services;

  • our supplier or procurement arrangements;

  • applicable law;

  • regulatory or compliance requirements.

The latest version will always be published on this website.

19. Governing Law

These Terms of Business are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute relating to these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
